The Emmigration Papers Of Johann L. Conzett

These papers were found stored in the remains of the estate of Ruth and Gertrude Conzett, youngest daughters of Rev. Jacob Conzett and the granddaughters of Johann L. Conzett. They apparently received them as a result of their father settling the estates of his parents as they died. Ruth and Gertrude retired to Evansville, Indiana to be near their niece, Alma Hegnauer Esselburn and her descendants, where the papers were located by me in 1996.

I have the greatest appreciation and thanks to bestow upon Bob and Tanya Esselburn, Alma's grandson and his wife, for providing me with this and other priceless Conzett documents for their preservation and presentation to every Conzett in this forum.

Each of these files are quite large, and may take as much as 5 minutes to load. This kind of history is well worth the wait....

The back side of the page above, with the French embassy's seal and permission to travel to and sail from a French port, the seal of the harbormaster of le Hávre, France as they departed, and the seal of the port police at New Orleans as they arrived in America.

The outside of the folded document, with the name of the ship: Pactolus N.C. (also seen written as the Pactola)
